FIFA's latest rankings unveiled: our national team's points stable, Asia's ranking slips slightly
In the late afternoon of June 23rd, FIFA, the world's soccer authority, unveiled its latest national team rankings. In this round of ranking, the points of our national team remained unchanged, still solid at 1304.02 points, but the world ranking unfortunately slipped one place to 78th, and at the same time, the Asian ranking was also affected, being overtaken by Uzbekistan, back to 11th.
Looking back at the last FIFA rankings, released on March 31, our national team scored the same 1,304.02 points, when it was ranked 77th in the world and 10th in Asia. however, our team did not participate in any World A tournaments during the most recent one-month point-counting cycle, and therefore the points did not change. Nonetheless, the world ranking dropped by one place to 78th, while the Asian ranking slipped from 10th to 11th.
The competition for rankings within Asia is particularly fierce, with the top 10 teams currently ranked in order: Iran, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iraq, Oman and Uzbekistan. It is worth noting that the top three Asian teams, Iran, Japan and South Korea, are not only ranked in the top 30 in the world rankings, but are also ranked 23rd, 24th and 28th respectively.
It is worth mentioning that Qatar has achieved overtaking Saudi Arabia in this round of rankings, moving from 6th to 5th place; while Saudi Arabia slipped to 6th place. Uzbekistan's excellent performance in the Asian qualifiers has enabled it to overtake our country from 11th place and climb to 10th.
In the 11th to 20th places of the Asian rankings, we can see our country followed by Bahrain, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam, Lebanon, India and Tajikistan.
In addition, China's Hong Kong ranked 145th, 25th in Asia; China's Taipei ranked 157th, 32nd in Asia; and China's Macao ranked 182nd, 37th in Asia.
