Shanghai Shenhua (soccer team)
The two city rivals met again in a marquee match. The Shanghai derby ended with a score of 1-1. After the match, Shenhua's coach Wu Jingui appeared in the spotlight of the press conference.
Wu Jingui began his comments on the match by saying, "I expected this to be a tough match before the game, and despite the many unfavorable factors, our players showed a strong fighting spirit. From a tactical point of view, it was a game in which we played quite well, both offensively and defensively, and even though there wasn't enough time to make adjustments in the middle of the field, the players gave it their all, and it was a great match. Although the result is a bit regrettable, we did our best in two consecutive derbies, and we can't do anything else, we see hope. The players showed a spirit of not giving up, and it was all focused on this game. They were also emotional and all thought they deserved to win the game, we scored four points in two derbies which is really good, nothing else was out of our control, thanks to the team for a great game."
Regarding Zhu Chenjie's penalty conceded, Wu Jingui said, "He scored three of his previous four penalties (note: two of them were scored and one was conceded), which is already very good. This is a test for him, we need to train him to have a strong heart and test his courage, which is very important for Shenhua and the national team, we will firmly support him to continue to take penalties."
As for Zhu Jianrong's early substitution, Wu Jingui explained, "This decision was partly for tactical considerations, and partly because of his injury situation, he still has an injury on his foot."
