At 18:00 GMT on June 24, the group draw for the FIFA 2022 U17 Women's World Cup in India was held in Zurich, Switzerland. Our women's soccer team has been placed in Group C along with teams from Spain, Colombia and Mexico.
This year's U17 Women's World Cup will be held in India from October 11 to 30, with Bhubaneshwar, Goa and New Mumbai serving as the host cities for the tournament.
It is worth noting that our women's soccer team did not qualify for the tournament earlier. However, due to the fact that the already qualified North Korean team could not participate for some reason, our team, the third place finisher of the 2019 AFC U16 Women's Championship, managed to qualify for the U17 Women's World Cup, according to the decision of the AFC Women's Football Committee at its third meeting.
As hosts, the Indian women's soccer team was automatically placed in Group A, where they were joined by the women's soccer teams of the United States, Morocco and Brazil. Japan, on the other hand, has been placed in Group D, where they will compete with Tanzania, Canada and France.
