On June 10th, Shanghai Seaport Football Club's foreign player Lopez officially announced on his social media platform that he has terminated his contract with the team. Since suffering a serious injury in the league last year, Lopez has traveled to Brazil to begin the road of healing and rehabilitation.
Lopez posted a message on social media platforms, "On June 8, 2022, I waved goodbye to Shanghai Seaport. In these few years, I have gained joy and friendship, and I sincerely thank the team for giving me the trust and opportunity to show my soccer talent on this land."
Lopez confessed that this is the time for him to pursue a new direction and meet a brand new challenge. He expressed his deep gratitude to the city of Shanghai and wished Shanghai Seaport great success in the coming season.
Today marks the end of my career at Shanghai Harbor. I have had a very happy time during this journey. I would like to especially thank the club for the opportunity and trust they have given me during my time representing them in the Chinese Super League and the AFC Cup.
