On June 4, in the first round of the Chinese Super League (CSL), during the match between Shanghai Seaport and Wuhan Changjiang, our player Xu Xin was not only shown a red card, but also lost control of his emotions and caused irreparable damage to the facilities of the playing field.
This action has had a bad impact on the reputation of not only Shanghai Harbour Football Club, but also the entire Chinese Super League. For this reason, we would like to express our deepest apologies to all the fans who supported us and to the Dalian Region. According to Shanghai Seaport's team rules and regulations, we have dealt with Xu Xin's behavior as follows:
Internal notification of Xu Xin's misconduct as a disciplinary action;
Xu Xin was asked to reflect deeply and write a self-examination;
Xu Xin was ordered to pay full compensation for the damaged facilities and was personally fined the appropriate amount.
Shanghai Harbour Football Club will further strengthen the management of discipline on the field of play and strictly regulate the behavior of players, with a view to establishing a good image of the club and creating a harmonious competitive environment.
