On the morning of May 24, Chongqing Liangjiang Athletic announced its withdrawal from the Chinese Super League and disbanded the team, however, it did not trigger the 17-team entry challenge. According to the New Beijing News, the Dalian People's Team's replacement in the Super League seems to be a foregone conclusion. In order to minimize the impact of the Chongqing team's dissolution, the groupings of the three Chinese Super League regions will remain unchanged, and the Dalian People's Team will travel to Haikou to compete in the first stage.
When Chongqing Two Rivers Athletic stopped training due to unpaid wages, the CFA and CFF preparatory team once considered not handing out teams and letting the 2022 Chinese Super League take place with 17 teams. However, with the completion of the access work, the teams are preparing for the tournament in accordance with the foreign aid requirements of the participating levels of the tournament. Due to factors such as fair competition, protection of the integrity of the league and brand image, the CFA and the preparatory group quickly initiated a study on replacement teams after Chongqing Liangjiang Athletic withdrew from the tournament, and eventually reached an agreement.
According to the rules of replacement, the Dalian People, who were relegated from the Chinese Super League to the Central League last season, became the first choice for replacement, and on May 25th, the Dalian People Club submitted an application for replacement. Even if the application is successful, the Dalian Ren team is still facing a lot of follow-up work. Under the leadership of new head coach Xie Hui, the team has been preparing for the Central League with a full Chinese squad. Due to FIFA's transfer ban, the club has little room for foreign aid adjustments - unless last season's foreign aid is recalled after the salary issue is resolved. It is reported that Danielson, Larsen and Boateng have not yet terminated their contracts with the club.
This year's Chinese Super League will be played in three zones: Dalian, Meizhou and Haikou. Although the Dalian People's Club had hoped to stay in Dalian, but due to the three regions of the grouping plan has long been determined, and now the teams are going to their respective regions of the isolation of the preparations, it is difficult to adjust, so the Dalian People's team will be going to the original Chongqing Liangjiang Athletic where the Haikou region to participate in the first stage of the Chinese Super League, with Shandong Taishan, Changchun Yatai, Guangzhou City, Henan Songshan Longmen and Zhejiang team in the same group.
Replacement team participation is not only the problem of the Premier League, Dalian replacement back to the Premier League, the new season of the Central League and face "18 teams lack of 1" situation.
It is not yet clear whether any teams from the Central League A and League B will be substituted in the competition.
