There will be a change of venue. After lengthy discussions with the AFC, the country finally returned the hosting rights.
Given the severity of the outbreak, and despite the fact that the original competition was almost a year away, it had to be announced that the

Although the abandonment of the tournament resulted in China losing its seeding, the team has managed to lock up the World Cup Asian Zone 12 by virtue of advancing to the

As of now, 13 teams have confirmed their advancement to the 2023

These include the 12 countries in the Round of 12 and Qatar, who topped their group in the Round of 40. The remaining 11 countries will have to go through the June

qualifiers to compete for the remaining seats.
