The CFA and CFL preparatory team plan to submit the final program for the start of the new season of the Chinese Super League to the relevant departments on May 16th. If the program is successfully approved, the new season is expected to kick off on June 3 and is expected to end in mid-November. Currently analyzed, if the 2022 season of the Chinese Super League adopts the group tournament system, Haikou, Dalian, Meizhou three major tournaments will be responsible for four stages of the tournament.
Haikou Region confirmed to host the event
Against this backdrop, Haikou became the only candidate to host a Chinese Super League event. on May 10th, a delegation from the CFA and the CFL preparatory team conducted a comprehensive inspection of the training and competition venues, hotels, and other facilities in the Haikou area. The Haikou city side is also quite positive about hosting the Chinese Super League tournament. After completing a series of procedures for agreeing to host the tournament, Haikou Match Zone finally confirmed that it will host a grouping of matches for the new Chinese Super League season.
After completing the selection of the three major tournaments last weekend, the CFA will submit the opening program for the new Chinese Super League season to the relevant authorities on May 16th. Once the proposal is approved, the organizers will send out official opening notices to clubs and related organizations.
Super League probable to open on June 3
According to the proposal submitted by the organizers, the probability is that the new season of the Premier League will open on June 3rd. Although the exact time of the end of the season cannot be determined due to the epidemic and other uncertainties, the tournament strives to be completed by mid-November, before the opening of the World Cup in Qatar. The season is planned to be divided into four phases, taking into account the earliest the tournament will start in early June, even if it takes up the cycle of international match days, this season's Super League schedule will also be very compact, it is expected that the first two phases of the tournament will be completed in mid-August.
According to the plan, the opening ceremony of the new Chinese Super League season will be held in Woyuanhe Stadium in Haikou district, which may be on the evening of June 3rd. The opening match will be played between defending champion Taishan and another team in the same group. Previously, it was said that Taishan's opponent is Chongqing Two Rivers Athletic Team, but the organizers have not yet finalized the match.
No general admission for the opening ceremony
As a result of the epidemic, the first two phases of the new Chinese Super League season will adopt a centralized system of group matches, and the matches will not be arranged for the admission of ordinary spectators. During the game, all kinds of staff, service personnel and media reporters related to the game will be located in the "anti-epidemic blue zone" and "anti-epidemic green zone", which is basically the same as the previous two seasons of the Chinese Super League. As for the third and fourth stage whether to allow spectators to enter, or even restore the home and away system, can not yet give a clear conclusion. However, if the full-season tournament adopts the group tournament system, the three zones of Haikou, Dalian and Meizhou will be responsible for the whole season. Of course, if one of the regions can't continue to run the tournament due to force majeure factors such as epidemics or venues, the organizers will launch an alternative plan.
