Vietnamese star Nguyen Quang Hai transfers to Austrian League's Sporting Linz
Vietnam's leading soccer player Nguyen Quang Hai is about to depart for Austria, according to the latest news from VN Express. The Vietnam national team stalwart has finalized a partnership with Austrian club Sporting Linz, and although the transfer contract has yet to be settled, a medical check-up in Austria in May is scheduled.
Nguyen Quang Hai, regarded as Vietnam's most outstanding striker, scored 10 goals in 42 matches during his national team career. In April, he turned down an attractive local league offer from Hanoi to pursue the Europa League stage. Despite rumors that he would join Kashima Antlers of Japan's J-League, Nguyen Quang Hai ultimately chose Linz to take a key step towards realizing his dream of European soccer.
The local Austrian media is expecting Nguyen Quang Hai's arrival. Linz is in dire need of a striker who can play consistently and steadily, and Nguyen Quang Hai is undoubtedly the ideal candidate for this position. It is worth mentioning that Japanese player Keido Nakamura and Korean player Hong Hyun-suk have also joined Linz team to prepare for the new season. (Editor: Liu Shui-Tu)
