Brazilian media outlet UOL has revealed that, although Gremio have yet to announce it to the public, Ickxon has been secretly training and recovering in Porto Alegre and is gradually integrating into the team's atmosphere. Due to the fact that official procedures and documents are still to be completed, Iverson has not yet officially become a member of Gremio. It is expected that Gremio will make an official announcement once he has received his work permit.
Speaking about the details of Ickxon's contract, Gremio general manager Bolzan revealed, "Not only does this contract include bonus incentives to recognize his performances in the Brazilian Championship's second division, but Ickxon will be rekindling his career here. His contract is for one year."
Since November 16th of last year, when he played for China against Australia, Ickxon has not participated in any official matches. Therefore, after joining Gremio, he will need to undergo a month-long rehabilitation first to adapt to the team's daily training and the rhythm of the game.
