Wang Frost's road to recovery

On the surface is Wang Frost's rehabilitation training alone, but behind it is a large and solid support team. The Hubei Provincial Sports Bureau closely tracked Wang Frost's injuries and had already made a detailed recovery treatment plan. After Wang Frost returned to China, Cheng Yang was sent to Hangzhou in early March to provide her with one-on-one recovery treatment, and upon her return to Wuhan, Carlos, a German recovery trainer under the Hubei Football Association, was sent to provide her with a tailor-made recovery plan.

Cheng Yang said that last week's assessment showed that Wang Frost's physical condition had recovered to about 70 percent. However, "having not touched the ball for nearly two months, her cardiorespiratory function, mental state, competitive level and integration with the team still need further recovery."

On the afternoon of 7th, Wuhan Chegu Jiangda women's soccer team beat "promoted horse" Shaanxi Chang'an Athletic 3:0, and achieved the first victory of the new season. Although she was unable to participate in the first stage of the game with her teammates due to injury, Wang Shuang still shared the joy of the game with her teammates remotely as a commentator.

"Good goal!" During the game, Wang Frost repeatedly cheered for her teammates' great performance and spoke highly of their morale and athleticism.

"My heart is always with my teammates and the club. We communicate a lot. I will ask them about the weather and accommodation there, and they are all concerned about my recovery, hoping that I can return to the team soon." Wang Frost revealed to reporters.

For Wang Frost, 2022 is a year in which she cannot afford to let up. The Women's Super League, the East Asian Cup, the Hangzhou Asian Games, every tournament she is unwilling to miss, but she also understands that she can't rush things. In her early years, after a back injury, she was in such a hurry to recover that she failed to fully go through the recovery cycle, which ultimately led to a herniated disc in her lumbar spine.

"At today's age, the body's recovery cycle is not as fast as it used to be, and after an injury occurs, I would feel the need for adequate recovery time, quiet time and thorough treatment to return to the green field in the best physical and athletic condition. Therefore, although the process is difficult, I remain patient and conscientious and hope to extend my career as long as possible."

"Football is a team sport and being able to get back on the pitch and train and play with my teammates is much more fun and enjoyable than practicing alone in the training room. I'm particularly looking forward to the second phase where I can quickly return to the club and play alongside my teammates, but I will still take the advice of the team doctors as my top priority." Wang Frost said. (End of full article)
