On March 25, Beijing time, the official website of FIFA unveiled the first ranking list of women's national football teams in 2022 year. China's women's soccer team successfully won the Women's Asian Cup in February, the points jumped 44.77 points, the total points reached 1858.99 points, ranking rose three places, climbed to 16th; in the Asian range, it is beyond the South Korean team, ranked after North Korea, Australia and Japan, sitting firmly on the throne of the fourth in Asia.

It is worth mentioning that this is the first time since December 10, 2011 that FIFA's rankings for 2022 have been released. In the past January and February, our women's soccer team, coached by Qingxia Shui, performed well in the Asian Cup tournament, winning the title for the ninth time with a record of four wins and one draw, which was also the first time since 2006. The results were as follows: in the group stage, the team defeated Taipei with a score of 4-0; in the group stage, the team defeated Iran with a score of 7-0; in the quarter-final, after conceding a goal, the team came back to defeat Vietnam with a score of 3-1; in the semi-final, the team battled with Japan for 120 minutes, trailing twice, equalizing twice, and finally eliminating the opponent in the penalty kicks; and in the final, the team defeated the South Korean team with a score of 3-2 to successfully win the championship. The outstanding performance of this Asian Cup made China's women's soccer points increased dramatically to 44.77 points, the total points reached 1858.99 points, the total ranking rose three places to 16th; in the AFC rankings, China's women's soccer team also surpassed the South Korean women's soccer team, ranked fourth. Although the South Korean women's soccer team's points also increased, its increase was not as large as that of our team, so the ranking fell instead of rising. In the Asian list, North Korea, Australia and Japan women's soccer still occupy the top three places. In the overall world ranking, despite the decrease of 5.03 points, the U.S. women's soccer team still topped the list with a total of 2104.06 points, followed by Sweden with a difference of 22.52 points, while the French women's soccer team overtook the German team and moved up to the third place. Ranking four to ten are Germany, Netherlands, Canada, Spain, England, Brazil and North Korea. The next release of FIFA's women's soccer rankings is expected on June 17th.
