Xu Liang admits, "We can't solve all the problems because we are individuals and are powerless. And we are not the ones who have the right to speak, we can only do what we can. Think back to all the unfairness, the people, the hooks, the obvious dark corners that you encountered at work before. But tell me, what can you change? What could you have dealt with? There is nothing you can do about it. It happens in all walks of life, injustice is everywhere."

Xu Liang went on to say, "I was just as good in the league, 7, 8 or 9 rounds, I can't quite remember, but I scored at least 8 goals, and at one point I was leading the league scoring charts. I'm an old international, I've been with the national team for five years, and even at the prime age of 28, I can't be faulted for that kind of performance. And yet, that's how I failed to make the cut.
