Beijing time March 24th fast news, a number of Serbian media disclosed that the core of the Gularets midfield Kajevic is about to move to Wuhan, and he is expected to leave for China soon.
International soccer reports indicate that the experienced midfielder Kajevic is bidding farewell to Gularec, where he has played for more than five years, and is set to start a new chapter in his career in Wuhan.
Reports indicate that although the Gularets wanted to extend Kajevic's contract, Wuhan's offer was too tempting to refuse.
Club director Matijasevic confirmed the news of Kajevic's departure in an interview, saying, "Yes, Kajevic received an offer from China. Although we would like to keep him, the reality is that we can't afford to keep him, because we know that this [new contract] will secure the 32-year-old's future and it's not realistic [not to let him leave].
"However, it's also good for our club that he's gone and it proves that our players are getting noticed. I'm glad they are going out and earning an income, and they may return to Gulareach in the future. Also, other players will see that at 32 there are still opportunities to play in overseas leagues. I wouldn't put obstacles in the way of players in the squad if the opportunity arose. From another point of view, it makes sense to do so."
Kajevic, 32, who plays as a midfielder, joined the Gullarets in July 2016 and has been an integral part of the team's starting lineup with 32 goals in 172 appearances for the team so far. He has made 23 appearances this season, contributing seven goals and two assists.
The Wuhan team has been under a lot of scrutiny lately, one of the reasons being that Artemisia Junmin and a number of other players have publicly asked for a pay rise. But there was also good news for Wuhan fans, as manager Li Jinyu chose to stay with the team to continue coaching. The team then officially announced the signings of three players, Hu Jinghang, Nie Aoshuang and Han Xuan. According to international reports, Kajevic is expected to arrive in China in the coming weeks and if all goes well, he will have the chance to make it in time for the start of the Chinese Super League.
