South Korean media outlet MHN Sports has revealed that a naturalized Chinese men's soccer player has refused to be called up to the national team, citing health issues, and has angered a large number of Chinese fans by bragging on social media about his "happy days" in Brazil.

All four Brazilian naturalized players failed to make the trip for the national team's westward journey because they failed to arrive in Dubai a week earlier for physical training. Among them, Lo Guofu was injured, and Fernando, Allan and Ackerson each had their say. In the national team's two group matches away to Japan and Vietnam, despite the naturalized players arriving in Japan in time to meet up with the whole team, their physical condition was poor and their athletic status was low. The coaching team had expected them to go to Dubai a week earlier to strengthen their physical fitness, in order to keep up with the team's training rhythm, but this plan ultimately fell through, and the four were not able to appear on the list of the World Cup.

An Instagram user suspected to be a close friend of Fernando reportedly posted a joyful photo with Fernando. In the photo, Fernando is seen having fun with his friends at a nightclub. In response, some of our media also criticized the situation, claiming that Fernando sang and danced in the nightclub, surrounded by many beautiful women, like a nightclub prince, a sentiment that triggered strong dissatisfaction among our fans.

Apart from Fernando, several other naturalized players often share their daily lives on social media. However, in stark contrast to their low profile, Fernando has come under extreme flak. Since naturalizing, Fernando has not played a single match for our team. He had been earning as much as $16 million a year at Guangzhou FC before returning to Brazil in September 2021 to heal from an injury sustained before a match against Guam. In response, our fans have said that Fernando should be severely punished.
