As the final two matches of the final week of the Top 12 draw nearer and nearer, the South Korean national team has officially released its new squad for the tournament. It was once rumored that Shandong Taishan's central midfielder Sun Junhao was expected to be on the list, but ultimately missed out on the honor. Korean media revealed that Sun Jun Hao plans to return home on March 24, at the same time, Shandong Taishan club is also stepping up the pace, trying to renew the contract with the midfielder.
On March 14, South Korea's head coach Bento unveiled the training list, and the absence of Son Jungho sparked concern. Bento said after the game that he would revisit Son's potential in the future.
Sun Junho has shown his individual strength in the last two seasons by helping Jeonbuk Hyundai and Shandong Taishan win the league title respectively. However, he has not been selected for the Korean national team since September last year, and it is saddening to see that he has not been selected again.
Recently, Son Jungho's name has caught the attention of Southampton in the Premier League and Fulham in the Championship. The midfielder is said to be looking forward to returning to the national team, and there are even suggestions that he is likely to join either Southampton or Fulham after completing the remaining two matches of the 12-team tournament.
Sun Junho will soon return to China to meet up with Shandong Taishan to prepare for the upcoming training. His contract with Shandong expires in December 2023, and the club has been trying to extend his contract since the end of last season.
