In the Beijing time zone on March 15, Feng Xiaoting's cloudy interaction with comedian Gong Hanlin sparked heated discussions and insightful comments from media personality Xu Jiang on his social media platforms.
Here's Xu Jiang's full opinion on the social media platform:
When it comes to criticism, blame, flirting and even cursing of the national football team, we must realize that in competitive sports, performance is the hard truth. At the moment when the men's soccer team defeated South Korea, didn't the nation's fans applaud in unison? Did we give due recognition when we won? Is it true that there is no problem when it comes to victory? Or was the game played well? Often times this is not the case, and many people cheer just because of the score.
So, when the men's soccer team loses, shouldn't we also bear it when we criticize, blame and curse? We can't just listen to the good words and not accept the hard words.
Soccer is being blamed precisely because the sport is in the limelight. If no one even blames it for losing to Vietnam, it means that our country really does not need soccer.
Moreover, our players, why do they always show themselves on Twitter immediately after winning a game? Isn't the purpose to win praise from the fans?
