According to Beijing time on March 13th, the British media footballfancast report, in-depth analysis of the English Premier League brigade Everton's transfer dynamics, which pointed out that Everton will be Browning (Jiang Guangtai) sold to the operation of the Guangzhou team, undoubtedly a shrewd deal.

Footballfancast notes that Everton's performance in the transfer market has historically been a mixed bag, with some of their decisions appearing rather rash. Especially in recent seasons, they have invested more than £100 million in transfer fees, yet their ranking in the Premier League has remained on the brink of relegation.

In the article, Andre Gomes and Jean-Philippe Gebamin are cited as examples, both of whom joined for £25 million, but now Gomes' value has shrunk to 18 million and his position in the team has slipped, while Gebamin's value has dropped to 8 million and he has been dropped by the club, having been loaned to CSKA Moscow in February. These are just the tip of the iceberg of Everton's transfer market blunders.

Although Everton's successful deals in the transfer market have been few and far between, the sale of their own youth player Browning (Jiang Guangtai) to Guangzhou is undoubtedly one of the most successful deals the club has done in recent years.

Everton initially bid £4.1 million for Jiang Guangtai, thanks to his Chinese heritage and the Chinese league's particular preference for naturalized players. Looking back to 2019, Jiang Guangtai was valued at just £900,000, a deal that was significant for Everton, with Jiang's transfer fee accounting for a whopping 16% of the team's total transfer revenue that year.

Jiang Guangtai has been praised by Everton's U23 coach as a rock-solid central defender. Upon arriving in China, the 27-year-old center-back's value rose slightly to £1.08 million. He was then naturalized by the Chinese Football Association (CFA) and renamed Jiang Guangtai, and has made 11 appearances for the Chinese men's football team so far. In last season's Chinese Super League, he made 19 appearances, helping Guangzhou collect 13 wins, five draws and four losses in 22 matches to finish third in the league. (End)
