With the end of the long season, all the big players have entered the rest period, and this is also the key moment for the clubs to lay out the lineup for the new season. The latest news reveals that Wuhan Football Club is actively operating, and is expected to bring in former Harbour forward Hu Jinghang to strengthen the team's attacking power.
Born in 1997 in Ezhou City, this player has been sharpening his skills at the Chongming Genbao soccer base since he was a child, and later joined Shanghai Harbor Soccer Club along with many of his peers. As a striker, Hu Jinghang was once known as "Wu Lei II", but his technical characteristics are significantly different from those of his "elder brother" Wu Lei. Hu Jinghang, who can play both as a center forward and a winger, was a mainstay of the U22 national Olympic team, and had a career highlight in 2017, when he not only led the Shanghai All-Championship team to win the Men's U20 Division of the Tianjin All-Championship, but also scored five goals on behalf of Henan Jianye and was awarded the Best Newcomer Award of the Chinese Super League (CSL) that season.
Hu Jinghang spent most of the last few seasons on loan before joining Wuhan in 2020. In the second half of last season, Hu gradually got the chance to play, and appeared in the final of the AFC Cup between Harbor and Taishan. With the desire to seek more opportunities and "go home to play football", Hu Jinghang's contract expiration is unlikely to be renewed with Harbor. The young man who once vowed that "every child born in Hubei dreams of playing for Wuhan" is now making strides towards a new goal.
