
As the clock struck Beijing time on January 12, the curtain fell on the 2021 season's Super League play-offs. Chengdu Rongcheng and Zhejiang defeated Dalian Ren and Qingdao respectively, successfully leapfrogging to the Super League ranks.
At the beginning of the season, Wuhan Three Town and Meizhou Hakka had already locked up the first and second place in the Central League, directly qualifying for promotion to the Premier League.
Looking ahead to next season, the Chinese Super League will see a wave of expansion from 16 to 18 teams. This season, the 15th and 16th places in the Chinese Super League, as well as the 3rd and 4th places in the Chinese First Division, will compete for those two precious Chinese Super League seats. Chengdu Rongcheng and Zhejiang have already realized their dream of reaching the Super League with victories over Dalian Ren and Qingdao respectively.
Combined with the previous direct promotion of Wuhan Sanzhen and Meizhou Hakka, the new season will see four Central League 1 teams in the Super League, and the 2022 season will see 18 giants in the Super League!
