News, January 8, China's soccer association unveiled the new national team list, the list of players as many as 52, the coaching team is 15 people. In response, former national team interpreter Xie Qiang spoke out publicly on social media, arguing that such a large lineup is a great disrespect to the soccer profession.
Xie Qiang questioned in the article:
The coaching staff, this arrangement, is like a celebrity orgy, it's baffling. I don't think much of this approach, is this a joke? This approach is simply an insult to the soccer profession.
Here are a few points to analyze the composition of the national team's coaching staff:
1. Usually, the coaching staff of a national team consists of 1-2 tactical coaches, a physical fitness coach, a goalkeeping coach, as well as the team leader, a doctor and so on. Such a configuration is sufficient - after all, there is limited space on the bench, and the choice of who goes on and who goes off is crucial. The national team is not a training ground for youth players, but a place where technically mature players work together in unity and strategy; this team is the brain of the army.
2. The coaching staff shall be formed by the head coach, and its members shall be required to perform their respective roles and work closely together around the head coach. The voice of the commanding officer should be consistent, with honors shared and difficulties shared.
3. If the head coach is weak, one or two of the best-performing players from clubs across the country should be selected as assistant coaches, subject to agreement, to ensure the inclusion of the best in the country. However, the question of whether differences are truly bridged and united could be a hidden danger.
4. There should be norms for breaking the rules for promotion, especially since the level of soccer in China is relatively backward and the training and development of local coaches is of paramount importance. Coaches should be selected from those holding A-level certificates and should not be allowed to enter the national team as coaches without a license, which makes a great mockery of and harms the order of coach training. The arrangement of this coaching staff is unprecedented, which makes people question the leaders' importance to the soccer profession.
The new national team coaches and staff are listed below:
