After traveling overseas, a soccer fan shared a screenshot of a private conversation with Luo Guofu on Weibo, in which he responded by revealing that although he would not be able to continue to represent Guangzhou, he plans to return to his homeland in January of the coming year to participate in the remainder of the Top 12 tournament.
Lo has now returned to Brazil and his contract with Guangzhou is believed to have been terminated.
However, in an interview with GloboSports Brazil, Lo expressed his strong determination: "I have my heart set on staying, I'm a Chinese and I've done quite well with the national team. I still have the Top 12 and the 2023 Asian Cup waiting for me. I plan to continue playing in China."
