Detailed schedule of matches for the third stage of the Asian qualifiers, the much-anticipated Round 7 and Round 8 of the 12-team tournament. For the Chinese national team, both rounds start on the road, challenging Japan and Vietnam respectively. Specific match times are set for 18:00 on January 27, 2022 and 20:00 on February 1, 2022, corresponding to the 25th day of the Lunar New Year and the first day of the Lunar New Year, respectively.
After 6 rounds of intense competition in the 12-team tournament, China's remaining 4 matches include 1 home match and 3 away matches. In rounds 7 and 8, the Chinese team will play two consecutive away matches.
According to the official news from AFC, the round 7 match of China away to Japan will be held on January 27, 2022 at 18:00 at Saitama 2002 Stadium. While the Round 8 away match against Vietnam is scheduled for February 1, 2022 at 20:00 at the My Thanh National Stadium in Hanoi.
China is currently in fifth place in Group B with five points, with one win, two draws and three losses. Saudi Arabia leads the group with 16 points, followed by Japan with 12 points, Australia with 11 points, Oman with 7 points and Vietnam at the bottom of the table. According to the regulations, the top two teams in Group A and Group B of the 12-team tournament will directly advance to Qatar.
