Bilic first commented on the match: "Today, Shandong Taishan made some rotations, and we had to make corresponding adjustments for the injury problems. Nonetheless, it was still a great match. Despite the fact that our opponents had a slight edge in possession, I believe we had the strength to win. Especially in the second half, we had four good chances to score but missed them. Both goalkeepers showed great saves, and a draw was a good result for us. I would like to praise the players for their hard work and pay tribute to the departing Li Lei, as well as congratulate the young players who made their debuts today." Speaking about Li Lei's farewell match, Bilic confessed, "I admire Li Lei very much, even though there has been a lot of criticism of him. He has performed well, but still has room for improvement. I think he is one of the best players in China and is fully capable of playing in Europe. In the dressing room, I always ask him to do better.
