In exploring the complicated situation of naturalized players, one fact that cannot be ignored is that with the financial crisis of the Guangzhou team breaking out, the team can no longer afford the high transfer fees. As a result, many Chinese Super League teams have shown strong interest in Alan and Jiang Guangtai after weighing the pros and cons. On the one hand, the two hold Chinese passports and will not need to take up the foreign aid quota if they join; on the other hand, they are relatively young and can play at least a few more seasons. For example, a team in the north has been in contact with Alan, while Jiang Guangtai, born in 1994, has attracted strong interest from at least two Chinese Super League (CSL) teams. This explains why Jiang Guangtai has become the first and so far the only naturalized player to make his debut in the Chinese Super League.
In contrast, Ickerson and Lokomotiv have not attracted interest from other domestic teams. As a result, there have been rumors that Iverson may return to Brazil to continue his career. Luo Guofu, although recognized in national team matches, has had mediocre performances in the Chinese Super League and Chinese League One over the past few years, and thus no teams have shown interest in him. This is one of the major reasons why Lo Kok Fu has recently opted to return to Brazil.
For ordinary fans, they are more concerned about how the national team's next matches are scheduled. Currently, the new men's national team is scheduled to regroup on January 10th. As Jiang Guangtai is still playing in the Chinese Super League, there seems to be no doubt that he will participate in the national team's training. However, three naturalized Brazilian players are likely to miss the new national team's training. Normally, they are required to undergo at least 14+7 days of quarantine upon arrival in the country before deciding whether to report to the national team or not based on their entry status.
So, will the naturalized players be able to represent the national football team in the next Top 12 matches in the future? This is still an unknown at the moment. One possible scenario is that the naturalized players travel directly from Brazil to Japan to meet up with the national football team and then play in the two rounds of matches at the end of January and the beginning of February. If this happens, it is again unknown whether they will return to Brazil or follow the national soccer team back to China after the tournament. Of course, this sounds like an ideal situation, but in reality there is the possibility of several naturalized players sitting out. Although these players have expressed their willingness to continue to play in the Top 12, the final result will depend on the effectiveness of the communication between the two sides.
