On December 15, Beijing time came the news that the Brazilian media Global Sports published an interview with Cangzhou Lions foreign aid Muric. Muric revealed that he has canceled his contract with Cangzhou Lions, because of the epidemic, he has been separated from his family for 8 months, and the longing for his family has forced him to return to Brazil. This news means that the "cheetah", who has made a big splash in the Chinese Super League and AFC Champions League, will officially bid farewell to Chinese fans.
In an exclusive interview, Muric expressed how much he misses his family, "My family can't come to China, I've been here alone for eight months, I have my little daughter and my eight-year-old son, and my wife, and I miss them very much. If I'm away from my family, then none of this makes much sense."
Reflecting on his initial arrival in China, Muric said, "I was 24 years old, I got an offer from China, I discussed it with my family and the club offered me a four-year contract, which was the best choice I've ever made in my life."
Muric was at the peak of his career at Guangzhou Evergrande, where he scored 77 goals in 137 games to help Evergrande win three Chinese Super League (CSL) trophies and the AFC Champions League, and he was also honored as the top scorer and best player in the CSL.
After leaving Evergrande, although he is no longer in peak condition, Muric is still powerful. He scored 16 goals in 20 games for Meixian in the Central League; in Cangzhou Lions, he scored 22 goals to help the team return to the Chinese Super League, and some fans even called for the naturalization of Muric.
Muric had originally planned to play in the Asian league for a few more years so that his children could have a comfortable life in China as well. However, the outbreak of the epidemic put a damper on his plans. Initially, Muric hoped to obtain an entry permit directly from Brazil, but waited for four months with no result. They then tried to obtain visas from Dubai, but again there was no news.
Now 35, Muric is putting his family first and returning to Brazil, where the late-career Cheetah hopes to find a club to continue his career.
