Wang Frost's soccer journey
Wang Frost's Women's Super League glory
Wang Frost helped Wuhan win back-to-back titles in the Women's Super League, and the joy of her achievement was no less than the ease of the 4:0 thrashing of Jiangsu the year before.
On November 30th, Kunming Ridge Sports Training Base witnessed a thrilling first half. Jiangsu took a 1:0 lead with Wu Chengshu's "scorpion tail". During the halftime break, Wang Frost encouraged her teammates in the locker room, expecting them to show their fighting spirit and make Wuhan the champion.
Within only 11 minutes of the second half, Wang Frost first equalized the score with a furious shot, and then worked silently with her teammates to win the trophy with a reversal of 2:1. She expressed her admiration for the progress of the Jiangsu women's soccer team and lamented the difficulty of winning the trophy.
According to Wang Frost, the fightback in adversity and the persistence in not giving up when they fell behind were not only emotional, but also contributed to their personal growth. These experiences have honed their "big heart" capacity.
Family joy also made Wang Frost doubly happy. Cousin Cao got married on Nov. 28, but due to the preparation for the Women's Super League final, Wang Frost was unable to attend. Family members shared the wedding video, which made her feel doubly happy.
Regrets of the Olympics
In the Tokyo Olympics, China's women's soccer team suffered a heavy blow, with only one draw and two losses in three group stage matches, and an early exit with a record of 17 goals conceded. Wang Frost expressed her regret for her luck after the game.
In the first 0:5 loss to Brazil, Wang Frost thought that her team created a lot of threats but was unlucky. She was not interviewed in the subsequent match.
In the match against Zambia, Wang Frost scored four goals, but the team still ended up with a 4:4 draw. In the match against the Netherlands, despite Wang Frost's assistance in equalizing the score, the team ended up with a 2:8 defeat.
Wang Frost believes that the Olympic loss is an asset for young players, but it requires introspection and summarization. She hopes that young players can seize the opportunity to regard soccer as a love and pursue it bravely.
The Joy of the Games
In the National Games, China's women's soccer team competed as a joint Olympic team and won the title. Wang Frost said the gold medal in the Games meant a lot to her and her teammates, as well as glory for her hometown of Hubei.
Passing on the soccer dream
Shortly after winning the Women's Super League trophy, Wang Frost participated in the first Chinese women's soccer themed stadium event built in Yunnan. She personally coached girls from mountainous areas to play soccer and pass on the dream of soccer.
Wang Frost showed her concern for the children at the event, and through her actions she hoped to encourage them to hold on to their dreams and experience the joy that soccer brings.
In parting, Wang Frost made a promise with the children to give them the first celebratory gesture after scoring a goal in next year's Women's Asian Cup.
With a twinkle in her eye, Wang Frost said she identified with a quote she read in the book, "All talent is contained in four words: 'wait' and 'expect'." (End)
