On October 8, the Chinese Football Association (CFA) unveiled the news about the selection of the head coach of the national women's football team. Shui Qingxia, who previously led the joint Olympic team to win the Shaanxi National Games women's soccer championship, has made it clear that she will not participate in the competition. In the list of known candidates, Zhao Junzhe, the current Guangzhou City leader, became the focus.

In the Tokyo Olympics, our women's soccer team failed to advance in the group stage with only one draw and two losses. Although manager Jia Xiuquan said he would not voluntarily resign, but in fact, his contract expired on September 30, the hope of continuing to coach has been slim.

The selection and recruitment conditions announced by the FA are relatively loose, including holding a working-level coaching certificate, having experience as a soccer player and having had experience with the national team. Among them, the requirement of having Chinese nationality directly excludes the participation of foreign coaches.

Competitors must also meet one of the following three criteria: having served as head coach of a CFF U19 and above national team; having served as head coach of a Women's Premier League team; and having served as head coach or assistant coach of a CFF Top League team.

It is understood that the women's football head coach selection deadline for registration is October 12, 24 hours. The Association will qualify the applicants, qualified candidates will be submitted to the selection of experts to finalize the candidates to participate in the interview.

Interviews will be held on October 15-16 at the FA, including personal statements and Q&A sessions. Candidates are required to present their coaching philosophy, team formation ideas, etc. through PPT, and analyze the development trend of international women's soccer and the situation of major rivals.

As the selection notice has just been released, it is not yet clear how many people will participate in the competition. Shui Qingxia, who previously led the United team to the gold medal in women's soccer at the National Games, has said she will not participate in the competition. Zhao Junzhe, as the leader of Guangzhou City, is expected to participate in the competition.

Shui Qingxia once said in an interview that it was an honor to coach the national team, but not her only goal. After the release of the notice of selection and recruitment by the Football Association, Shui Qingxia made it clear that she would not participate in the competition, the specific reasons were not disclosed.

Zhao Junzhe served as the head of the national team management department and director of training at the Football Association, and was the 97th National Olympic team leader between 2018 and 2019. After retiring from the game, he served as deputy general manager in charge of youth training at Liaozhu and as head of the team's coaching staff. After leaving the FA in 2019, he served as Yongchang's veteran manager and as a leader at Guangzhou City.

Guangzhou City expressed its support for Zhao Junzhe's support for the women's national soccer team and hoped that he would contribute to the national team.

It is reported that the Football Association had approached a coach who had coached in the Chinese Super League salon and was rich and strong, asking if he was willing to take over the women's soccer team and discussing the relevant transformation program. This coach is Zhao Junzhe.

No matter who becomes the head coach of women's football, the Football Association requires it to improve the team technically and tactically, but also for the development of women's football to establish a framework and system, the task is arduous.

When the new women's soccer boss takes over, his first priority will be to prepare for the Asian Cup in India early next year, competing for a place in the International Cup, and then the Asian Games in Hangzhou, with the mission of competing for the gold medal.
