In a torrential downpour, the night of September 25th witnessed the 14th National Games Women's Soccer Adult final spectacle, China's Olympic Gold Medal Division, with the Tokyo Olympic Women's Soccer Team as the base of the United Team, after a thrilling battle, to beat the Shanghai team by a score of 1:0, to win the laurels.

Xinhua's Wu Zhuang captured the moment when Union's Wang Yan (pictured left) and Shanghai's Zhao Yingying engaged in a fierce header scramble during the match.

At the beginning of the final, United put great pressure on Shanghai. In the 24th minute, Xiao Yuyi took the lead with a skillful shot from inside the opponent's penalty area. In the second half, the rain intensified, and both teams failed to change the score despite frequent changes in offense and defense.

After the Tokyo Olympics, the country's women's soccer team debuted at this year's Games as a joint team. They will also represent the country in the Asian Cup tournament early next year.
