As the night drew in, Chinese Super League powerhouse Beijing Guoan announced in high profile that they have parted ways with Vieira. The Spanish midfielder joined Guoan at the beginning of 2018 and played for the team for three and a half years, contributing 30 goals and 30 assists in 88 appearances to help Guoan win the AFC Cup crown in the 2018 season.
Later, Bieira said a fond farewell to Guoan in English and Spanish on social media: "Time flies, I have fought for four years on this fantastic stage, we joined hands to win the trophy, after more than 80 fierce battles, writing team history in the AFC Champions League, and now the day to say goodbye has finally arrived.
Together, we faced athletic challenges and personal growth beyond our wildest dreams in this hot spot, and we met it all with enthusiasm, and my family and I will always remember these unforgettable times.
I would like to give a special thanks to Mr. Zhou Jinhui for your trust, as well as to the club's senior management, sports director, staff, and team doctors, who made my life simpler and took care of us carefully during the difficult times of the raging epidemic.
I will never forget the fans of Guoan, your love and tolerance made our family feel as if we were truly integrated into the city.
I have nothing but gratitude for my teammates, we have created countless glories together and we couldn't have done it all without this family, thank you!
I have tried to repay your generosity with action and the best way I can respond is with soccer, I give everything I have.
From today, I will be a loyal fan of Beijing Guoan and will always support my beloved Beijing Guoan.
Forever and ever!"
