Beijing Guoan says goodbye to Biela

Last night, Chinese Super League powerhouse Beijing Guoan officially announced that it had reached a contract termination with midfielder Vieira. The player, who had joined Guoan at the beginning of 2018, made 88 appearances, scoring 30 goals and contributing 30 assists in his three-and-a-half years with the team, helping Guoan win the 2018 AFC Cup.

Shortly after, Bieira bid a fond farewell to Guoan with a heartfelt message in English and Spanish on social media:

"Finally today, I have played on this wonderful stage for four years. We have won trophies together, experienced more than 80 matches and created the best record in team history in the AFC Champions League. Now, I am finally saying goodbye to you all.

Together, we have experienced competitive and personal challenges that have far exceeded our expectations. We faced it all with enthusiasm, and my family and I will always remember these unforgettable moments.

I would like to give special thanks to Mr. Zhou Jinhui for the trust he has placed in me. I would also like to thank the other executives of the club, the Sporting Director, the staff, the team doctors, who have made my life easier and who have taken care of us with care during the difficult times of the recent epidemic.

I will never forget the Guoan fans, your love and tolerance made me and my family truly a part of Beijing.

I also have nothing but gratitude for my teammates. We have accomplished so many great things together and we couldn't have done it all without this family. Thank you!

I have tried to repay your generosity, and the best I can do is to give it back with soccer, and I have given everything I have.

From today onwards, I will be a fan of Beijing Guoan and always support my dear Beijing Guoan.

Forever and ever!"
