It is worth noting that this is the third time this year that the World Football Federation has released its women's national team rankings, as well as the first ranking update after the Tokyo Olympics. At the Tokyo Olympics, China's women's soccer team, led by Jia Xiuquan, was defeated by Brazil, drew with Zambia, and ultimately lost to the Netherlands 2-8, finishing 10th out of 12 teams.
The loss at the Tokyo Olympics reduced China's women's soccer points by 60.79 points, now at 1,814.22, dropping two places to 17th. On the Asian list, China's women's soccer team is still ranked fourth behind North Korea, Australia and Japan. However, the gap with the South Korean women's soccer team is only 3.33 points.
In the overall standings, the U.S. women's soccer team led the way with 2,110.25 points, despite a decrease in points, thanks to their previous dominance. It is worth noting that the Zambian women's soccer team moved up 10 places to return to the top 100 and reach their highest ever position of 94th after drawing against our women's soccer team.
Among the top ten teams in the ranking, only one, the DPRK women's soccer team, is from Asia.
