On August 18, 2021, Chinese Super League powerhouse Beijing Guoan FC officially released a statement announcing that it had reached a termination agreement with Brazilian foreign star Fernando.

In an official statement released by the club, Guoan expressed this, "On the basis of friendly negotiation between both parties, Beijing Guoan Football Club has terminated the contractual relationship with Fernando. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Fernando for his hard work in the past two seasons for Guoan and wish him all the best in his future career."

Recall that in the summer of 2019, Fernando joined Guoan on loan from the Russian Premier League side as an emergency reinforcement to replace the injured Vieira. After half a season of performance, Guoan decided to make Fernando's contract officially permanent in early 2020. However, in 2021, Fernando and teammate Augusto have not been able to return to China due to the epidemic. As a result, Guoan did not include Fernando in the league registration list this season. Until today, Fernando's chapter with Guoan draws to a close. In about two years, he represented Guoan in 26 matches, contributing 4 goals and 1 assist.

Prior to that, Guoan had already completed the contract termination process with Augusto, whose contract was due to expire at the end of the year. Fernando's contract was due to expire at the end of 2022. In addition to the departure of these two Brazilian foreign aid, the Guoan team of Kim Min Ja has also transferred to Fenerbahce, Sosa returned to Changchun Yatai. Currently, Guoan's squad also includes Bakambu, Bieira, and new foreign aid Anderson Silva. However, Bakambu and Biela's contracts are also due to expire at the end of the year, and it is possible that they could return early if the season ends early.
