On July 25th, China time, Wuhan Sanzhen Football Club, a Chinese League One powerhouse, officially announced that Alberto Garcla Xicota would no longer be at the helm of the team, and that technical director Pedro Morilla would be acting as the head coach on an interim basis.

The official club announcement reads as follows:

In view of the development needs of the team, after friendly consultation between the club and Mr. Alberto, an agreement has been reached. With immediate effect, Mr. Alberto will step down as the first team manager of Wuhan Sanzhen Football Club.

Since 2017, Mr. Alberto joined Wuhan Sanzhen Youth Training Team from Spain to China. since March 2019, he officially became the first team head coach and led the team to play in the League B. In 2020, the team won the Championship of the League B under his leadership and was successfully upgraded to the Middle League.

During his tenure, Mr. Alberto has been diligent in his duties, worked tirelessly, risen to the challenge, and devoted a great deal of effort to the development of the team. Especially during the Xin Guan epidemic, he did not hesitate to return home to join the team and stick to his post, showing the noble quality of professional footballers. The club expresses its heartfelt thanks to Mr. Alberto for his efforts and contributions to the development of Wuhan Sanzhen soccer and wishes him all the best for the future.

The club also announced that Mr. Pedro, the Technical Director, will be acting as the first team head coach until a new head coach is in place.
