Ugarte's career
Ugadi, a youth product of the Uruguayan Phoenix, was promoted to the first team at the age of 15. He made his league debut as a substitute on December 4, 2016 and helped his team beat their opponents in his debut match. Initially playing as a striker, Ugadi gradually transitioned to the back.
In 2019, at the age of 18, Ugadi became team captain and scored his first career goal on March 10 of the same year.
On December 29, 2020, Ugadi moved to Portuguese Premier League side Famalicom on a five-year deal. He joined for €3 million and promptly made his debut for the team on January 17, 2021, before scoring his Portuguese Premier League debut on February 21, two months later.
Ugadi moved to Sporting Portugal on August 9, 2021, signing a five-year deal for a transfer fee of €6.5 million. He quickly integrated into the team and became a starter after João Palinha's injury, and his performances won the favor of coach Ruben Amorim.
After two seasons in the Portuguese Premier League, Ugadi joined Ligue 1's Paris Saint-Germain on July 7, 2023 on a five-year deal with a €60 million default fee. He made his first appearance for the team on August 12 and was quickly nominated for Player of the Month for August and praised by the French media. However, from October onwards, Ugadi gradually lost his starting position due to tactical incompatibility until the end of the season.
After only one season, Ugadi was transferred to Manchester United of the English Premier League on August 27, 2024, for a fee of €50 million with a €10 million mobility clause due to lack of playing time. Three days later, United officially announced that Ugadi had joined the club, signing a five-year deal with an automatic one-year extension clause.
