Aguero shines on stage
Aguero completed a hat-trick in a 6-0 thrashing of Panama at the 2007 World Youth Football Championship, and followed that up by scoring the only goal of the match on a free kick against South Korea in the third game of the group stage. The team advanced to the round of 16 and eliminated Poland 3-1, with Aguero contributing two of the goals. In the semifinals, the team beat Mexico and turned back the Czech Republic in the final, with Aguero equalizing, to win the Golden Boot and Golden Ball awards with six goals.
In the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Aguero contributed a key assist against South Korea as a substitute for Argentina. Although the overall performance was not up to expectations, Argentina stopped in the last eight.
