Tracking soccer news on June 13th, the Portuguese newspaper Record disclosed that the Portuguese Superliga powerhouse Porto is secretly coveting the foreign central defender Kim Min Ja of Chinese club Beijing Guoan and has begun to plan for a transfer.

According to the newspaper for the record, Minjae Kim's contract with Beijing Guoan is set to expire at the end of the year, at which point he will most likely move to Porto. According to the report, Kim is a free agent and is now eligible to negotiate with other clubs for a transfer. Porto are now faced with the decision of whether to pay the transfer fee and sign him immediately, or wait until the winter transfer window opens next January to take him on for free.

It is worth noting that it was previously reported by Portuguese media outlet Sic Noticias that Kim Min Jae has reached an agreement with Italian Serie A giants Juventus to sign a five-year deal. However, Kim Min Ja admitted at a press conference for the South Korean national team that he is not yet up to the standard of joining Juventus and will have to say so for now.
