On June 2, Beijing time zone, AFC officially announced the time of the last three matches of our football World Preliminary 40, all scheduled to kick off at 9:00 p.m. local time. Considering the four-hour time difference between the UAE and our country, this means that the matches will be played at 1:00 a.m. our time, which is not only a huge test of physical fitness for our national team, but also to cope with the interference of jet lag.

Although our team has traveled to West Asia many times before, but usually do a good job in advance to adjust the jet lag, either arrive early to start preparing for the game, or in the country to consciously adjust the work and rest. However, this time the situation is unexpected, leaving the national football team to adjust the time is extremely tight.

According to the plan, the national team will take a chartered flight to Dubai at noon Beijing time on June 3, with an expected flight time of about 10 hours. That is to say, local time on the evening of the 3rd, the national football team will arrive in Dubai, and from the first game kickoff, only less than 96 hours left. According to past experience, after flying from China to West Asia, the most obvious sense of jet lag in one or two days, the daytime spirit is not good, it is difficult to sleep at night, usually a sleep at most 4, 5 hours, and easy to wake up. Moreover, the better the physical condition of the person, the more obvious the sense of jet lag.

In addition, our team is playing between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. our time, which is a time of deep sleep for most people. To play a high-intensity soccer match at this time of the day is undoubtedly a huge challenge for our team. The coaching staff and logistics staff need to find ways to help the players adjust as quickly as possible. In contrast, opponents such as the Philippines and Syria have long been assembling in the West Asia region, and for them, the problem of jet lag has long been a non-issue.
