Controversy over soccer schedule changes
A piece of news hit like a storm yesterday - the Chinese Football Association (CFA) officially announced that the remaining matches of the Forty Four tournament, which was scheduled to be held in our country, will be transferred to Dubai, UAE.
Immediately afterward, the Syrian Football Association (SFA) reacted quickly by releasing an official statement in response to the re-location of the 40-team tournament. The statement emphasized that the AFC had an agreement in place that allowed for a change of host country if necessary. However, the Syrian Football Federation is strongly opposed to any adjustments to the remaining fixtures in the group, especially those changes that could favor their own team.
In the early hours of this morning, renowned soccer commentator Han Qiaosheng angrily criticized the Syrian Football Association's move on social media, with his sharp words, "On June 1, in the early hours of the morning. The Syrian Football Association suddenly issued a statement claiming that it was against adjusting the remaining Group A fixtures on the grounds that it might be favorable to its own team. Immediately thereafter, the Syrian officials came up with an unexpected 'divine operation' and released a new match schedule on their own."
This sudden statement raises a lot of questions. As we all know, players from Syria and Maldives were unable to enter the country due to the New Crown epidemic, as they were infected with the New Crown virus. For the sake of the overall situation, our Football Association finally decided to give in and agreed to travel to Dubai for the match. However, with the upcoming match against Maldives on June 3, time is running out for the national football team.
This statement from the Syrian Football Association gives the impression that they are standing on their own two feet. It's fine for them to stand their ground, but it's unseemly for them to get too carried away.
