[Beijing, May 27]
The official news from the Chinese Football Association (CFA) said that on May 27, after repeated reviews of the controversial penalty kick incident in the third round of the China League B match between Qingdao Hainiu and the National Youth Football Team, it was confirmed that there was a miscarriage of justice in the penalty kick decision. The CFA Referee Committee will take internal disciplinary action against referee Hu Yuxin and first assistant referee Yang Nan, who are expected to face several rounds of suspension.
Recap of the highlight match of the third round of C.B. on May 26th, U20 National Youth Football League (NYFL) played against Qingdao Hainiu. In the 13th minute, Qingdao Hainiu's Xu Jiajun broke the deadlock, and the team has been leading ever since. However, in the 90th minute of the game, the National Youth Football Team launched an attack in the middle of the field and hit the arm of Qingdao Hainiu's defender in the process of passing the ball. The referee immediately awarded a penalty kick, and Erikseddine took the penalty kick and hit the ball to complete the equalizer.
However, analyzing the video replay, it was clear that the Manatees' defender was located one meter away from the penalty area, and according to the rules, the National Youth Football Team could only get a free kick inside the penalty area at most. The penalty kick directly negated the efforts of the Qingdao Manatees throughout the game.
The Professional League Referee Committee reviewed the case and concluded that the misjudgement was mainly the responsibility of first assistant referee Yang Nan and referee Hu Yuxin. It was reported that Hu Yuxin was initially inclined to award a free kick, but due to the restricted viewpoint, he eventually complied with the side referee's opinion and incorrectly awarded a penalty kick.
