Nippon Confederation Cup Group C Match Review

May 19, 2011 - Yokohama FC went down 0-2 to Urawa Ruby in the final round of the Group C group stage of the J-League Cup, and went out of the tournament.

Urawa Ruby opened the scoring just three minutes into the first half with Takayoshi Sekine assisted by Yoshiho Koizumi's precise pass. In the 16th minute of the second half, Yasuya Taimaki added to the lead with a powerful shot.

Chira Miura came on as a substitute in the 26th minute, and although he was active in front of the goal, fighting for high balls and looking for a chance to score, he couldn't make up the difference, and the score stayed at 0-2 until the end of the match. Yokohama only needed a draw to make history as the first team to break out of the group stage of the JLF Cup, but the defeat made the team's farewell to this year's tournament a sad one.
