Fan Zhiyi on national football preparations: right place, right time, right people, full confidence in the 40-team tournament
According to a May 18 Beijing Times report, former famous international footballer Fan Zhiyi talked about the recent activities of the
national soccer team
Preparation for the Top 40. Fan believes that with
national soccer team
advantage, the four games in the Top 40 will be easy pickings.
Fan first commented on the
national soccer team
The recent training set was given a favorable response. "Since Li Tie took over, preparing for these four games, including the national team's training in Shanghai, and we watched the warm-up games, it feels like it's all been about preparing to get to the next stage recently."
In this training session, five naturalized players, including Aixon, Alan, Fernando, Jiang Guangtai and Li Ke, were selected to the list. Talking about the naturalization issue, Fan Zhiyi said, "We may discuss naturalization again, naturalization is a means and a result of adapting to market demand. Putting that aside, I think the national team's morale is all right now."
Looking ahead to the upcoming four Top 40 matches, Fan is full of confidence. "The matches are getting closer and closer, Guam, Maldives, Syria, Philippines, I don't think it's China's opponent. If these four teams can't play, what's the point of thinking about the next game, these days just play these games well. Four 1-0, it is the same. The key is to prioritize, the strongest opponent is Syria."
Fan concluded by emphasizing that there are no problems with the four matches in the 40-team tournament.
"From now on our whole timing, including the epidemic factor, the whole preparation of the national team, I think the atmosphere, the personnel are changing, I think it's okay for these four games."
According to the schedule released by the AFC, China will first face Guam on May 30, take on the Maldives on June 3, face the Philippines on June 9, and face Syria in the final match on June 15th. All of China's matches will be held at the Suzhou Olympic Sports Center.
