On May 20, Cangzhou Lions foreign aid Ahmadov revealed in an interview that his ribs have been fractured twice, but he still relies on painkillers to insist on preparing for the upcoming Top 40 tournament.
Despite suffering from broken ribs in the Chinese Super League, Ahmedov has been selected for the Uzbekistan national team's preparation for the 40-team tournament. Speaking about this, he said, "When I first arrived in Cangzhou, I was able to keep playing, but then I broke three ribs, and I tried my best to play despite the pain. After the third round, the doctor diagnosed that the ribs were broken again in the same place for the second time."
"This injury caused me to miss two matches in the Chinese Super League and now I have come to Uzbekistan for treatment because there are more important matches waiting for me."
At 34, Ahmedov is undoubtedly at the heart of the national team and the dream of the World Cup motivates him. He continued, "I want everything to be organized before the national team games start. I have been training individually with the fitness coach for the past five days and although the pain is unbearable, I have to persevere for the sake of the national team. First, I need to inject some medication into the wound, which naturally includes painkillers, and I'm ready to play my part in the crucial matches to come."
Uzbekistan is currently in second place in Group 4 with three wins and two losses in the first five rounds of the 40-team tournament.
