Central League Spotlight: Kunshan FC and Chengdu Rongcheng Draw 1-1
On May 5, Kunshan FC and Chengdu Rongcheng started a fierce battle in the third round of the first phase of the Central League. The match started at 15:00 BST and the two sides played to a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes.
In the first half, Feng Zhuoyi scored a goal for Kunshan FC, but Leonardo's interference led to the goal being disallowed. Then, Berto's breakaway created a penalty kick, which Yang Yun hit to give Kunshan FC the lead. In the second half, Leonardo hit the post with a header and equalized the game with a late barb. Finally, Chengdu Rongcheng drew 1-1 with Kunshan FC.
Kunshan FC had a poor showing in the first two rounds of the competition, drawing 2-2 with North Sport University in the first round and going down 0-1 to Nantong Zhiyun in the second round. Chengdu Rongcheng, on the other hand, won two consecutive matches, beating Jiangxi 4-2 and Nanjing 2-0. In the lineup, Kunshan FC's single foreigner Berto started the match, while veteran Cui Peng sat on the bench. For Chengdu Rongcheng, Liu Ruofan started in partnership with Leonardo.
At the beginning of the game, QSFC showed a strong desire to attack. In the 1st minute, Berto stopped the ball on his back and took a shot, but the ball kicked on the grass. In the 7th minute, Wu Guichao got away from the defense inside the penalty area, Feng Zhuoyi missed the ball, and Kunshan players cleared the ball in time and missed a good opportunity. In the 14th minute, Zhang Chen shoved the ball down Han Guanghui, the referee showed a yellow card warning.
In the 19th minute, Zhang Chenglin picked a pass to the center, Gan Rui's header was not far away, Berto followed up with a low shot, the ball grazed the post and slightly deflected. In the 35th minute, Berto was brought down on a breakaway down the left side of the road and the referee awarded a penalty kick, which Yang Yun hit to give Kunshan FC a 1-0 lead.
In the 51st minute, Zhang Chenglin was injured and couldn't hold on, and Zhang Wei came on as a substitute. In the second half, both sides made some adjustments and the pace of the game accelerated. In the 85th minute, Han Guanghui was replaced and Xiang Baixu came on to strengthen the offense.
In the 88th minute, Li Zhi crossed the ball, Cui Peng ventured over the top, Cai Mingmin made a mistake in clearing the ball, and Leonardo hooked the ball into the goal, Chengdu Rongcheng equalized 1-1.
