On May 5, the drums of the 2021 Chinese Super League (CSL) season were beating once again under the night curtains in Beijing, with Tianjin Jinmen Tigers battling Hebei in the third round of matches. In the fierce first half, Hebei's outside backs Paulinho and Liao Wei missed consecutive golden chances straight at the goalkeeper, while Tianjin Jinmen Tigers' Zhou Tong left the field due to injury. A little later, Malcolm skillfully swung the ball to Yin Hongbo, who managed to break the net with a header.
Into the second half, Hebei's Cong Zhen was shown a direct red card for a foul, but that didn't stop Hebei's offense. In the end, Hebei won 1-0 against Tianjin Jinmen Tigers.
After the match, HBFC's head coach Kim Jong-woo was blunt in his press conference, "Our players were perfect in the first half, and as expected before the match, the team created a number of good scoring chances, but unfortunately we were not able to capitalize on these chances."
