Renowned international footballer Wambach has unfortunately been caught up in a drink-driving fiasco, the news of which has been widely reported by the BBC, the Guardian and many other media outlets. After enduring an arrest and bail from the US police, Wambach took to his personal social media to sincerely apologize to the public.
It was reported that on Saturday afternoon, local time, patrol officers were on duty when they spotted a vehicle driven by Wambach running a red light in violation of the law. Police then stopped the vehicle and quickly detected suspicion that Wambach had been drinking and driving.
A Portland Police spokesperson revealed that Wambach was then taken to the nearest police station and subjected to a series of alcohol tests. Sadly, her BAC test results did not meet the standard.
