New season roster revealed for Gushue Dongwu
Today, Central League One team Gusu Dongwu unveiled their squad for the new season, with a total of 31 players selected. It is worth noting that there are no foreign or naturalized players in the team. However, a closer look at the list reveals that the No. 10, No. 20 and No. 30 positions are temporarily vacant, and Salon may have reserved these key numbers with the intention of making full preparations for the upcoming lineup adjustments. Head coach Gary White, who is in charge of the team, is good at making a weak team into a strong one.
Former international player Fan Xiaodong is undoubtedly the most recognizable player in this squad, and at 34 years old, he is also the oldest player in the team. In addition, Zhang Cheng, a member of last season's Chinese Super League winning team, and Sun Le, a longtime second goalkeeper for Shanghai SIPG, are also post-80s players in the squad, and their experience will have a significant impact on the team.
Gusu Dongwu said on its official microblog, "The 2021 season of the Central League is about to reignite, and Gusu Dongwu will embark on the journey again on behalf of Gusu with a brand new lineup."
Since January 11, 2021, Gushu Dongwu has been preparing for the new season. During this period, they played six warm-up matches against five teams - China U20 National Team, Zhejiang, Qingdao Hainiu, Wuhan Sanzhen and Shanghai Seaport - with a final record of one win, two draws and two losses.
