I started my soccer career at FC Rijeka in Croatia, where my upbringing in the youth system gave me a vision for the future, and at the age of 17 I began to reflect on whether my passion for soccer would be enough to support me as a coach. With the unwavering support of my mother, I began my training path as a coach.
After 12 years of hard work, I have obtained the UEFA working level coaching qualification. As the old Chinese saying goes, "Read a thousand books, travel a thousand miles", becoming a good coach requires not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical experience and exchange and learning with coaches of different styles.
In 2015, whilst working towards my coaching qualifications, a friend invited me to London to observe Slaven Bilic coaching West Ham United. That exchange left a lasting impression on me, particularly my insights into soccer development, which led to an instant connection with Bilic.
At the age of 32, I made my debut as a head coach, leading hnk orijent, a team from Croatia's fourth division, out of a difficult situation. As a young coach, I cherished every opportunity to show my talent and accepted the challenge with determination.
After becoming a head coach, I firmly believe that this is my life's work. Planning training programs, seeing players grow, and leading teams out of difficult situations are accomplishments that fill me with pride.
I was addicted to the game Football Manager, but after actually becoming a manager, I realized that reality is very different from the game world. In reality, there are all sorts of people to deal with, all sorts of tricky issues to deal with, and it can't be reset like a game.
At the beginning of my tenure, I promoted many young players, communicated and exchanged ideas with them, and built deep friendships. After leading the team to successful relegation, the team was promoted to two consecutive levels in two seasons and became a competitive team in the second tier of the Croatian league.
This experience has been a valuable asset in my life. Even when I entered the Premier League later on, I still think the most memorable thing was leading hnk orijent through the promotion playoffs, and the feeling of success is hard to describe.
My achievements caught the attention of the Croatian media, but I was aware that I still had a lot to learn. Then came the perfect opportunity: Bilic invited me to join his coaching team. Coaching in the Arab world was not a success, but with Bilic I reached another high point in my life - leading a Championship team to the Premier League.
I still remember staying up all night watching videos and marveling in order to study Guardiola's teams. When I actually faced Guardiola's team, it was like a dream come true. I was also inspired by my idol, Jose Mourinho. We met after a Tottenham game and I expressed my dream of becoming a coach to him.
As a professional coach, I know I still have a long way to go. Now, I have to do my best to help Coach Bilic, to bring the Beijing

After all the games over the last two seasons and being impressed with the passion and strength of the team and especially the fans, I can't wait to play alongside you.
Apart from soccer, everything about China is a joy to me. I had read some negative comments about China, but when I actually came here, I realized that the reality is very different from the rumors. China is a prosperous and modernized country where people are happy and friendly.
My mother had watched some videos about life in rural China, which is quite popular in Europe. She asked me if all Chinese people live like that. I smiled and told her that life in China is modern and happy. I hope that after the epidemic is over, I can bring my family to China to experience it for myself.
The new season is just around the corner and I can't wait to meet you all.
