Domestic league refereeing reforms for the 2021 season
On the afternoon of April 1, Shanghai staged a brainstorming session for the heads of salons of domestic operational leagues for the 2021 season. Chen Xuyuan, president of CFA, emphasized the importance of refereeing at the meeting and revealed that refereeing at all levels of the league will usher in brand new changes in the new season. Among them, the "salon complaint mechanism" has become a highlight. According to the new regulations of the league's preparation for the refereeing section, each salon can make a cumulative total of three representations on controversial penalties throughout the season. It is worth mentioning that the result of the game remains unchanged even if the appeal is recognized by experts. In addition, the league's referee section plans to publicize referee selection information before each match.
Chairman Chen Xuyuan re-emphasized at the meeting on the afternoon of the 1st that the refereeing work is the focus of the preparation for the new league season. CFA and the preparatory group will work together to improve the refereeing management methods. It is reported that the new season will introduce the "salon representation mechanism", i.e., each salon can accumulate 3 representations throughout the season. It should be noted that if the result of the evaluation is consistent with the salon's claim, the claim will not be counted as 3 chances; if the claim fails, it will be counted as 1 claim.
Liu Jun, who is in charge of the competition work in the preparatory group of the operational alliance, said that even if the representations are recognized by the experts, the results of the match will remain unchanged according to the rules and spirit of international football penalties. However, the salon will receive some recognition for this.
