WTA lineup revealed: Sabalenka, Svartak headline star-studded year-end final
Beijing time on October 16, the WTA year-end finals list was officially unveiled, although Zheng Qinwen regretted to fall.
The WTA year-end finals, the battle for the 8 seats is settled. Tennis elites such as Sabalenka and Svartak managed to advance with the following lineup: Sabalenka, Svartak, Gough, Paolini, Lebakina, Pegula, Chin-Wen Cheng and Wimbledon champion Krygitskova.
The race was tight and the player points are as follows:
Sabalenka: 4,430 points in the majors, 3,915 in the 1,000, 736 in the 500.
Svartak: 2,690 points in majors, 4,780 in 1,000s, 695 in 500s.
Gough: 2,040 points in the Grand Slam, 2,745 points in the 1,000, 303 points in the 500 and 250 points in the 250.
Paolini: 3,080 points in the majors, 1,725 in the 1,000 and 339 in the 500.
Lebakina: Slam 1350, 1905, 500, 1716, 1000.
Pegula: 1,440 points in the majors, 2,115 in the 1,000, 1,120 in the 500 and 30 in the 250.
Cheng Chin-man: slammed 1870, 1785, 500, 250, 250, 250, 250.
Krejcikova (Wimbledon champion): 2,510 Grand Slam points, 30 in the 1,000, 113 in the 500, 54 in the 250.
The 2024 WTA Year-End Finals will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from Nov. 2-9, with a record $15.25 million in total prize money.
Zheng Qinwen regretfully withdrew from the Ningbo Open due to health issues, here is her withdrawal statement:
"Hello everyone, I'm Zheng Qinwen. I am sorry that I have to withdraw from the tournament in Ningbo. After the Chinese Open and the Wushu Open, my body is injured and I have a cold. I look forward to playing Ningbo again next year. I am deeply sorry for withdrawing. I hope the fans will enjoy the tournament and see you again next year."
After Li Na, Zheng Qinwen became the second Chinese player to reach the singles of the WTA year-end finals.
